A recent poll conducted by Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) found that 76% of New Jersey voters support limits on where and when gambling ads can be shown.
This figure coincides with recent legislation, Bill A5207, that would ban online ads for sports betting.
New Jersey, once the largest market for sports betting, (until being taken over by New York earlier this year) is the second-largest with revenues totaling $72.7 million in February.
Bill A5207 would ban the “posting, distributing, broadcasting, or disseminating” of any online sports betting ads and marketing shared via any web-based platform on a mobile device.
The PoliciPro team will continue to track updates on this legislation, along with others across the country impacting the gaming industry.
